Habitat management at Les Landes
A hands-on volunteering opportunity with the Natural Environment team to manage Molinia in our bog habitats
Managing Molinia in bog habitats is crucial because this species can dominate and outcompete other plants, reducing biodiversity and altering the hydrology of sensitive wetland habitats. Regular control helps maintain plant communities, supports rare species, and preserves the ecological integrity of bogs as vital habitats for wildlife.
You will help manage the molinia bog by cutting back overgrown vegetaion and removing stools.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your volunteer hours and make a positive difference to our natural environment at a protected and sensitive site.
We will meet in the model aircraft carpark.
Please bring your own refreshments.
Tools will be provided.
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes / boots. If you have gardening gloves you are welcome to bring them with you!
