What’s in the DNA of a Future Change Maker?

Dovecot StudiosEdinburgh, Edinburgh
Monday, Mar 23 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Overview

What should be in the DNA of the next generation? Join educators and industry to explore creativity, purpose and future-ready thinking.

What is it?

A one-day festival bringing together educators, employers and creative thinkers to explore the skills, values and mindsets we want to embed in the next generation.

You’ll experience a hands-on journey through storytelling, creativity and collaboration with insights from real student projects and leading industry experts and brands.

This isn’t a showcase. It’s a conversation.A space to connect, reflect and reimagine the future of learning and work.

Why should you attend?

Teachers

  • Reconnect with your own story: Reflect on what shaped you as a learner, and rediscover the power of purpose in your teaching.
  • See creativity in action: Explore how creative thinking transforms engagement, supports wellbeing, and equips learners for life beyond school.
  • Explore the new Creative Innovation Qualification (SCQF Level 5 & 6): Be inspired by how it’s being used to unlock learner potential and imagine how it could fit your setting.
  • Build real connections with industry: Understand what employers value, and shape partnerships that give your learners genuine opportunities.
  • Leave with a renewed sense of direction: Clarify what kind of learning culture you want to create and how storytelling can help you lead it.

Employers

  • Reflect on your own journey: What led you here? What values drive your work? Reconnect with the human side of leadership.
  • Explore the role of creativity in future-ready teams: See how young people are developing the mindset and adaptability you need in tomorrow’s workforce.
  • Understand how storytelling drives impact: Discover how to use narrative more effectively in your business to lead, engage, and innovate.
  • Connect with educators shaping the next generation: Build partnerships that go beyond CSR and help nurture the talent you wish existed.
  • Join a collective vision for change: Be part of a growing movement building a more creative, connected and purposeful future of work and learning.

How will it work?

You’ll take part in a dynamic, story-led experience:

  • Reflect on your own creative journey (past, present, future)
  • Hear powerful stories from young people (through their designs, ideas and projects)
  • Collaborate in mixed groups from both education and industry to explore shared challenges
  • Contribute to a collective vision of what creativity in education and work should look like
  • Leave with tangible ideas, connections and inspiration to take back into your organisation or classroom

If you care about the future of learning, work and young people, then this is the space you need to be in.
