This course is aimed at any practitioner working with children &/or adults who would like a more comprehensive understanding of safeguarding

This course is aimed at any practitioner working with children and/or adults who would like a more comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and their role within it

  • By the end of the course, those attending those attending will:
  • Have reflected on the spectrum of safeguarding and considered key principles and definitions in safeguarding children & adults
  • Have had the opportunity to consider current trends, causal and risk factors
  • Have considered what issues they may identify in their work, and what risks they may need to anticipate or prepare for
  • Have discussed safe workplaces, cultures, and whistleblowing
  • Have considered their role in safeguarding, and what to do if they have a concern about a child, or adult or workplace conduct/practice
  • Have considered best practice issues
  • Have reflected on the importance of self-care
  • Know where to go when they have concerns or need advice/support in responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Identified next steps for them as professionals
