Admission of Churchwardens, Kensington Area, Tuesday 2 June 2026

For all Churchwardens in the Kensington Area, annual service for Admission with the Archdeacon of Middlesex, The Venerable Richard Frank.

Tuesday 2 June

6.30pm (Registration: declaration forms will be available at the Welcome Desk and to be completed on site).

Light refreshments on arrival.

7pm service for about an hour.

Venue: St Saviour's Wendell Park, Cobbold Road, London W12 9LN

Where we are: St Saviour’s is on the north side of Wendell Park, right opposite Wendell Park Primary School on Cobbold Road. The nearest tube stations are Stamford Brook and Turnham Green (District line), and Acton Central (Overground, Mildmay line). You can also reach us by bus from Shepherd’s Bush, on the 207, 260, 273, 283 and 94.

Parking: There are a good number of parking spaces immediately outside the church, on both sides of the road. But please note that on weekdays, vehicles are prohibited from entering our section of Cobbold Road between 8 and 9.30am, and between 2.30 and 4pm. This Monday to Friday restriction is in place between the junctions of Hartswood Road and Becklow Road. There are cameras to monitor this and fines are issued, so please take care parking.

This annual service for Churchwardens for Admission to Office and Declaration of Oaths, legalises the role of churchwarden in their parish for the year of their appointment. The office of Churchwarden dates from the 14th Century and this ancient role is important today as a lay guardian of the parish church.

This service is also an opportunity for Churchwarden's (and their guest) to meet each other, be introduced to members Kensington Area team enjoy some coffee and cake together.
