Immortal Mozart: The London Mozart Players and Cristian Sandrin

Kettner Concerts grew out of the long running Kettner Society, originally a group which met for monthly lunches with an invited speaker. Over a period of almost five decades, a huge range of topics have been explored. Continuing in this tradition, Kettner Concerts offer programmes that draw on the rich links of music with cultural, artistic, historical, and political subjects. We also strongly encourage performers to include contemporary music as well as compositions by lesser represented communities in their repertoire. The National Liberal Club is our home venue but we have recently been exploring other venues further afield: St Mary’s Church in Twickenham, the Holywell Music Room in Oxford and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester.

Kettner Concerts go on tour in Oxford too, in the extraordinary space of the Holywell Music Room in Oxford. The HMR is a hugely popular venue in Oxford, being one of the earliest buildings in Europe erected specially for musical performances

My father was the distinguished pianist and professor Sandu Sandrin. Our home was always buzzing with his musician friends.From an early age he took me to concerts at the famous Romanian Atheneum concert hall and I studied the piano at the Dinu Lipatti college, but I was never pressured to follow in my father's footsteps. It was only when I heard Christian Zacharias and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra performing the Mozart concerti at the Atheneum when I was twelve that I was inspired to contemplate life as a professional musician. Sixteen years later I had my own debut at the Bucharest Atheneum in 2021 Performin Mozart’s K503 Piano Concerto in C major with the George EnescuPhilharmonic. The works of Mozart remain a passion towards I am continuosly drawn. Last year I performed Mozart Piano concertos with the English Chamber Orchestra Ensemble and in May 2026 I will perform the Concerto K. 482 in the Serate Musicale in Milan.Critics on both sides of the Atlantic have praised my performances and my recordings.
