This training event will provide essential and practical guidance on the running of tests, examinations and assessments in non-mainstream centres.
It will also address any changes which may occur as the year progresses, as well as good practice in examination management.
The training is designed for anyone who is involved in the management, administration and conducting of examinations in any type of specialist provisions such as SEN Schools, Pupil Referral Units and Hospital Schools.
This training day will include:
1) Reviewing the academic year 2025/2026 and planning for success in 2026/2027
2) JCQ changes for 2026/2027: Understanding the implications for Examinations Officers and SEND students
3) What is new in JCQ, Awarding Bodies and Access Arrangements?
4) Successfully Implementing Access Arrangements within Specialist Provisions
5)Managing the paperwork and administration for ELC, BTEC, ASDAN, Functional Skills, Units Award Scheme and others
6) Hints and tips for Examination Officers in special schools and PRUs
7) Contingency Planning and Risk Assessments: Ensuring compliance in your centre
8) An inspector calls: Feedback and recommendations
