In Focus Zine Workshop: The Quest
Join the team at In Focus for a free Zine Workshop based on the theme The Quest and the current exhibition at God's House Tower
Join the team at In Focus on Saturday 2nd May, 2:30pm - 4pm, for a free Zine Workshop based on the theme of The Quest and the current exhibition at God's House Tower.
About the workshop
The workshop will draw inspirations from the current exhibition on display at GHT, RAFTS by Alistair Debling, which thinks about climate change through the lens of access and care.
The Zines created will be on display at God's House Tower from Friday 1st May - Sunday 31st May 2026.
About the exhibition
RAFTS by Alistair Debling is a new exhibition commissioned by ‘a space’ arts for God’s House Tower. The exhibition draws together data-driven climate research from Dr. Gordon Inglis at the University of Southampton and people-driven research from creative workshops with Rose Road to ask: what if climate change were reframed as an access and care issue? The resulting multimedia installation will flood the main gallery space at GHT, offering new strategies for staying afloat in the face of disaster.

Access and Quiet Spaces
Access to the cafe extension is step free Lower Canal Walk and there is a ramp available should you need it to access the cafe, toilets and rest of the building. The courtyard also has step free access from the corner of Lower Canal Walk and Town Quay road.
GHT is a 25-minute walk from Southampton Central Train station and is on a number of local bus routes. Our closest car parks are Gloucester Square and Mayflower park. This part of the city can get very busy with traffic from the cruise ship terminals at this time of year so please do allow for extra time if you’re driving.
For information on parking and travel please visit the Plan your Visit page of our website.
If you’d like to familiarise yourself before your visit you can take a virtual tour of the spaces on our website. You’ll also find a visual story so that you know what to expect and how to identify members of the GHT Team.

About 7 Story Plots
“I’ve heard that story before”... You probably have!
There are seven classic plots of fiction, but endless ways to tell them.
From March to November 2026, In Focus presents 7 Story Plots — a multi-venue journey unravelling the threads woven through the most legendary tales.
In these free hands-on zine-making workshops, craft your own mini storybook inspired by one of the classic plots. Open to all — no experience needed. See your creations displayed alongside others from In Focus workshops, with the exhibition refreshed each month to explore a different story.
