Captain David Seath Memorial 5K Run | Walk (Hybrid)

Welcome to the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund, established in memory of Captain David Seath who tragically died running the 2016 London Marathon. David’s legacy has raised over £293,000 which supports wounded, injured and sick personnel and veterans as well as their families, through Help for Heroes.All donations to the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund are used to support Help for Heroes’ fellowship programme in Scotland.The Band of Brothers and Band of Sisters networks provide social and learning activities, support, camaraderie and a wide range of opportunities to almost 800  Veterans and their families and carers across Scotland. So whether your donation today helps a Veteran learn new skills and gain confidence, or supports a family respite day or enables Help for Heroes staff to be there when a Veteran is in need; you can be sure you’re helping local heroes in David’s name and memory.Previously, donations were used to support wounded, injured and sick personnel through Help for Heroes’ Quick Reaction Fund (QRF). A total of two hundred and forty-eight welfare grants were awarded in David’s name, which provided specialist sports equipment, respite breaks and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) therapy, as well as facilitating supported employment placements, training courses and the setting up of small businesses.That’s why we continue to work with David’s chosen charity, Help for Heroes. By doing so, we can be confident that every single donation to the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund really does help to rebuild lives

<h3>About The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund</h3>Established in memory of Captain David Seath, who tragically died running the 2016 London Marathon in support of Help for Heroes. Since then, David’s legacy has raised over £350,000.00, supporting hundreds of veterans and their families, through Help for Heroes.David served with distinction in Afghanistan with 19th Regiment Royal Artillery, who later earned the coveted green beret to serve with 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery. Establishing David’s fund was our way of embodying the commando spirit in showing courage, determination and selfless commitment in the face of adversity.David’s fund continues to help veterans recover from life-changing physical and psychological wounds. The fund also helps to deliver employability and skills training, help to meet health and social care needs, provide family support grants, enable vital mental health services to run and to fund sporting and camaraderie events across Scotland.Together, we’re making Scotland a place where every veteran feels valued, supported, empowered and never disadvantaged as a result of their service.
