Graduation Ceremony 1 - Children and Young People, Teaching and Beauty

It's time to celebrate your Newcastle College University Centre Graduation!

We are delighted to announce the date of our Graduation 2026! This is your opportunity to celebrate your hard work and achievements with friends, family, classmates and University Centre staff.

Ceremony 1, for our Children and Young People, Teaching and Beauty students, is taking place on Thursday 9 July 2026. Please see details below:

Location: Newcastle Civic Centre, Barrass Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH

Student registration and robing: 8.30am to 9.30am

Ceremony start time: 10.45am

Light refreshments served: 12pm

Graduate and guests depart: 12.30pm

Deadline to book your place, hire your gown, book guest tickets and photography: 12pm, Thursday 21 May 2026.

**Please note: the deadline for ticket purchases is 12pm on Thursday 21 May 2026, or until tickets sell out (which may happen before this date and time). Once student and/or guest tickets have sold out, we won't be able to accommodate any more requests due to the strict venue capacities at Newcastle Civic Centre.**

Tickets

You will be able to book your student ticket and up to two guest tickets, hire your gown and purchase any photography packages from 10am, Thursday 26 March 2026. Gown hire is £39, which includes the cost of your student ticket. All guests of all ages will require a ticket to attend a Graduation ceremony, including babies, children younger than four years old, and the elderly. Guest tickets are £12 and are non-transferable. If you do not wish to attend Graduation, you will be unable to book guest tickets on behalf of another student. All guests require a ticket, including any guests under 18 years old.

Extra guest tickets

If Graduation ceremonies are not fully booked by the deadline of 12pm, Thursday 21 May 2026, we will release extra guest tickets from 10am, Thursday 11 June 2026. You will be notified when extra guest tickets are available to book via the email address you supplied at the time of your original booking. Please note, there is no waiting list for extra guest tickets.

It is advised that you book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Due to capacity and health and safety regulations at the venue, we can only accommodate a certain number of students and guests. If a ceremony becomes full, we will endeavour to place you in another ceremony. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee your place at Graduation after the ticket deadline date of 12pm, Thursday 21 May 2026.

The ceremony

This is a formal ceremony, so you will need to wear academic dress (a gown, hood and mortar board). When booking your student ticket, you will need to select the degree title that you are graduating from.

The formal part of the Graduation ceremony will last for approximately one hour, after which light refreshments will be served and you will have the opportunity to catch up with friends and have any professional photography taken that you may have ordered.

Due to the large number of students graduating, it is very important that all students and guests arrive promptly at the allocated time for registration. There is no on-site car parking at Newcastle Civic Centre; however, there are car parks located in the city centre, so please make allowances for this when planning your journey.

On-the-day photography/videography by Newcastle College

During the Graduation ceremonies on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 July 2026, photography and videography will be taking place for use by Newcastle College, Carlisle College and NCG. This may be used across Newcastle College, Carlisle College and NCG marketing publications and publicity materials, which may include prospectuses, press releases, social media and outdoor advertising for a period of up to 5 years, as and when required. If you do not wish to be part of any photography/videography taken by Newcastle College, Carlisle College and NCG at the graduation ceremonies, please make this known on the day by speaking to a member of staff.
