Glasgow Club CrownpointGlasgow, Glasgow
Thursday, Mar 26 at 9:30 am to Friday, Mar 27 at 5 pm
Overview

Learn how to recognise, intervene, and support someone at risk of suicide.

About ASIST
ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is an internationally recognised, evidence-based workshop designed to help participants respond with confidence and compassion to people at risk of suicide. Over two days, you’ll learn how to recognise warning signs, engage someone in crisis, and work together to build a plan that ensures their immediate safety.

What you’ll gain

  • Practical, evidence-based intervention skills for responding to suicidal thoughts or behaviour
  • Confidence in having open, safe conversations about suicide
  • Tools to develop a personalised safety plan in collaboration with the person at risk
  • Techniques to connect individuals to ongoing support and community resources
  • A deeper understanding of what someone in crisis needs from others in order to stay safe and seek help

Why ASIST?
Participants consistently describe ASIST as life-changing - both personally and professionally. You’ll leave the course equipped with the skills to recognise when someone needs help, the language to reach out, and the confidence to make a difference.

Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or explore local options during the breaks.

Participants must complete the registration link to Public Health Scotland that we will provide in order to receive your participant workbook and certificate of attendance.

We look forward to welcoming you to what many describe as a life-changing learning experience.

If you would rather have us invoice you or another party (such as an employer) for your place on this course, please get in touch with us directly at: training@lifelink.org.uk to register your place. Please note: if your employer is NHS, GCC or any other government organisation we will require a purchase order number in order to generate an invoice.
