The EP Inclusion Community (EPIC) is a free group open to UK-based EP professionals interested in promoting school inclusion & belonging.
Welcome to the EP Inclusion Community (EPIC)!
The EP Inclusion Community (EPIC) is a free group for all in the Educational Psychology community with an interest in the EP role in supporting, promoting and developing inclusive practice in schools.
The general aim of the group is to promote the role of EPs in supporting inclusive practice and to consider strategies to enhance the EP voice in discussions around inclusion in schools.
Ali Carr is a Specialist EP for Inclusion and Belonging, and the creator of the BASE Model of Inclusion (Belonging and relationships, Autonomy, Sense of Safety, Equity). The BASE model provides a holistic and evidence-based framework centered around the concept of the school as an inclusive 'base' for the whole school community.
This 2-hour online session is the second meeting of the EPIC community. The focus of this session will be around co-producing an EPIC Community reponse to the SEND review Consultation.
This is the second EPIC session of what is planned to be an ongoing recurring event, planned to take place 4 times a year. In addition to the above aims, each session will also feature a short knowledge-/ expertise- sharing session from a member of the community, in an inclusion-related topic. The focus of this second session will be on co-producing an EPIC community response to the SEND Reforms consultation paper: Putting children and Young People First (see SEND reform: putting children and young people first - GOV.UK).
This group is open to all Educational Psychologists, Trainee Educational Psychologists, and Assistant Educational Psychologists working in the UK.
