Join local maker Grace for a gentle introduction to the art of seaweed pressing. She’ll begin with a short chat about how she first started collecting and pressing seaweeds, sharing her favourite species, along with the small lessons learned from years of experimenting with colour, shape and texture.

Participants will then choose from a selection of already foraged seaweeds and create up a piece of their own seaweed art. With simple guidance on technique and placement, everyone will learn how to arrange and press their chosen specimens.

You’ll have the opportunity to try identifying species using a seaweed identification book. All workshop equipment and materials are included. For an additional £8, your fully dried pressed seaweed artwork can be posted to any UK address once it’s ready to come out of the press. Small seaweed presses will also be available to purchase, should you wish to continue pressing at home or on holiday.
