Women-only Newtown Dawn Chorus Nature Walk - 3 miles

A serene and uplifting experience for women to meet and share a celebration of spring with a short walk around Newtown Nature Reserve at the break of dawn.

As the sun begins to rise, we'll embark on a gentle stroll through the tranquil paths of the reserve, surrounded by the awakening sights and sounds of the natural world. Connect with nature, appreciate the beauty of the dawn, and experience the magic of the dawn chorus in all its glory.

This women-only walk is designed to create a relaxed and supportive space where women can slow down, connect, and fully immerse themselves in the experience. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or simply someone who appreciates the wonders of the outdoors, this walk promises to be a memorable and uplifting experience for all.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Don't forget to bring binoculars and a camera if you wish to capture the beauty of the dawn chorus and the surrounding wildlife.

Length of walk: 3 miles (approx 2 hours)

Walk Cost: Free of charge

Walk Leader: Rachel Richards

Type of Walk: Circular

Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.

Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.

Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile. Not suitable for walkers with mobility impairment of any kind

Facilities:

  • Rest stops
  • Good walking footwear recommended
  • Takes in coastal scenery
  • Takes in woodlands
  • There are stiles on the route
  • There are steps on the route
