World Climate Day at the Nature & Wellbeing Centre

World Climate Day at the Nature & Wellbeing Centre

Overview

A day of practical local action and hands-on climate awareness next to Edgbaston Reservoir.

Join us at the Nature & Wellbeing Centre for World Climate Day on 23rd March and help make a greener future!

Join us for a special World Climate Day event as part of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Nature Call to Action Campaign this March!

Spend the day discovering how we can take meaningful action for the environment in our own neighbourhoods - from small everyday changes to hands-on activities that strengthen community connections and help nature thrive where we live.

Our three acre site will be open to everyone throughout the day - take part in as much or as little as you like, or simply visit to enjoy our green space and spend time outdoors!

🌿 Timed Activities

9:30am–10:30am – Morning Yoga in Nature

Start your day with a relaxing yoga session surrounded by trees and birdsong. Enjoy a peaceful start to World Climate Day! Suitable for beginners.

10:30am–12:00pm – Roots Forest School Taster (Ages 2–5)

Try out our Roots Forest School in this free taster session for children aged 2–5 years. Get messy in the mud kitchen, help care for our seedlings ready for planting out later in the year, and enjoy time in nature through play.

10:30am–12:30pm – Walk & Talk Community Clean Up

Join us for a litter pick around Edgbaston Reservoir as we help keep our local green and blue space clean and welcoming. A great way to meet others, enjoy the outdoors and make a difference!

1:00pm–3:00pm – Branching Out: Seed Bomb Making

A supported, inclusive session for people with learning disabilities and additional needs. Create your own seed bomb to take home and help green your local area!

🌻 All-Day Drop-In Activities

  • Care about climate? Join our craft drop-in to make a protest sign using recycled materials.
  • Help us launch our new rainwater harvesting system and learn how collecting rainwater supports climate resilience.
  • Discover how solar power works as we launch our new solar strip, powering tools and outdoor activities in our Creative Shed.
  • Sow sunflower seeds to take home and grow for pollinators.
