Celebrate Eid Al-Fitr at the Oriental Museum and join us for an afternoon of arts and crafts, food and readings. Everyone welcome.

Also known as the ‘Festival of Breaking the Fast’ Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims around the world at the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.

This afternoon of celebration will include art and craft activities, a delicious halal buffet, readings and more. There will a gallery trail for children and the museum galleries will be open for visitors to explore.

Due to space limitations, there will be two food serving times, 12pm and 1pm. Please select which time you would like when booking your ticket.

Booking is essential. Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and children. Children under 2 years are free of charge.

Please bring a print out of your ticket or have your ticket displayed on your mobile device upon arrival.

This event is jointly organised by the Oriental Museum and Durham University Islamic Society.

Travel and parking

Free parking is available for this event in the Oriental Museum carpark and overflow parking at Teikyo and Elvet Hill car parks. There is also metered parking close by the museum and the Howlands Park and Ride is a 15 minute walk away from the museum.
