A workshop exploring self-image through the Felt Sense and Therapeutic Photography
Therapeutic Photography is the structured use of images with an intended outcome (eg empowerment, personal growth, self-efficacy etc) and was pioneered for modern psychiatry in the 1970's by Judy Weiser. The Felt Sense is our holistic embodied response to any situation (the meaning underneath our feelings, the not-knowing, the stuff we don't yet have words for), and a portal to our own truth and understanding. It's hugely important for wellbeing and self-understanding, and has been described as, 'on the edge of our evolution', by Simon McKibbin
Therapeutic Photography coupled with the Felt Sense, forms a powerful approach to mental growth and healing, and this workshop focuses on a reflective path to personal insight and the opportunity to know yourself in a new way. Using images of yourself, you'll gain a compassionate and loving perspective of where you're at, what you need and what might change as a result of this insight. It's a tool for self-love like no other and it'll change the way you look at yourself forever.
You will need to bring a journal and pen, a photograph of yourself as a child and a recent photo of yourself. Please have them printed out or on a separate device from where you'll attend the zoom session.
Previous delegate feedback -

'I loved looking at my images and realising things about myself that weren't analytical or critical.'
'I enjoyed the embodiment aspect and being more compassionate with my current image.'
'Being able to make a connection with someone new and share something so personal through the image was lovely - coming together over the self.'
'It was amazing to have a reason to spend time with our own images.'
'Looking at my images with someone else was an amazing experience - it was really powerful.'
'The power of presence and reciprocity was a very powerful way to notice myself in a different way.'
