Developing an Anti-Racist Coaching Practice
Skills Session led by Jo Hensel and Pat Joseph with an emphasis on reflective practice.
The EMCC has issued a call to all coaches to acknowledge the presence of systemic racism, to end colour blindness and to adopt an anti-racist approach to coaching practice. In this interactive session, we will invite coaches to explore their awareness of their own racial identity, to analyse their coaching practice through an anti-racist lens and to identify tangible steps to developing and strengthening their own anti-racist coaching practice.
This session is for coaches, coaches in training and anyone interested in developing an anti-racist coaching practice. It is co-led by Jo Hensel and Pat Joseph, who have worked together over a number of years through Guildhall Ignite.
Jo is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and Associate and Professional Development Lead at Guildhall Ignite, whose work focuses on supporting confidence, resilience and reflective learning in creative and professional contexts.
Pat is an accredited Senior Practitioner with the EMCC and an experienced executive coach, facilitator and consultant who has designed and delivered nationally accredited programmes across the social care and education sectors.
Together they have developed and delivered coaching, leadership and resilience programmes, including a resilience-building programme for frontline teams working in the homelessness sector. Their work is grounded in a shared commitment to reflective, inclusive and empowering coaching practice, and to creating spaces where coaches can continue learning, questioning and developing their practice together.
This session is run by Guildhall Ignite - Executive and Professional Performance. Explore our offer at ignite.gsmd.ac.uk or get in touch at ignite@gsmd.ac.uk for your free discovery call.
