How do I access the event?

A secure link to the Microsoft Teams Meeting will be sent to your registered email address exactly 24 hours before the session begins. Please check your spam or promotions folder if it hasn't arrived by the morning of the event.

Can I ask the speaker a question?

Accepted Answer

Yes. To ensure the lecture remains focused and to respect the limited time of our professional speakers, a dedicated Q&A will take place at the end of the presentation. You can submit your questions at any point during the event using the Teams Q&A text feature, we will put the best ones forward.

Do I need a camera or microphone?

Accepted Answer

No. Because this is a webinar format, all attendee cameras and microphones are automatically disabled upon entry. You can attend in your pyjamas; we won't know.

Do I need to download Microsoft Teams?

Accepted Answer

No. You can join the webinar directly through any modern web browser. However, downloading the free Teams desktop or mobile app generally provides a smoother viewing experience.

Do I need to be an Open University student to attend?

Accepted Answer

While this event is hosted by the OU Politics & IR Society, attendance is open to anyone with an interest in international relations and global affairs.

Will the session be recorded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A recording of the lecture will be made available to registered attendees after the event concludes, provided the speakers have given consent for public distribution.
