To begin our celebrations for the 15th anniversary of Hot Numbers DJs Chris Brown & Shaun Owen will present a tribute to soul DJ Max Rees.

Max Rees was where it all started for Hot Numbers as our cafes take their name from the original Cambridge record store owned by Max on Kingston Street and which he allowed our owner Simon Fraser to resurrect for Hot Numbers Coffee, Hot Numbers records was where owner and founder Simon first met Max and became a regular visitor to the record store to buy vinyl records and speaks to the importance of music in the identity of Hot Numbers café’s.

Max was a pivotal figure on the Cambridge soul scene, Chris Brown and Shaun Owen will play an evening of soul music and pay tribute to their friend and fellow soul DJ.
