Makaton Level 3 Workshop Online

Level 3 Makaton Workshop, teaching stages 5 & 6 of the Core Vocabulary signs & symbols. You will learn a further 99 signs & symbols from stages 5 & 6.

Level 3 Workshop is the next step of your Makaton journey after completing Level 2.

It is recommended for people who need to use Makaton at home and in their work, to develop the communication skills of others.

Level 3 training is an advanced level of Makaton training and will help you to improve and develop your signing and symbol skills and how to use them effectively every day.

Level 3 training provides a practical learning session on how to apply the Makaton Communication Programme. The Level 3 Workshop will start with a refresher on the signs previously taught in Levels 1 & 2, building on topics such as; people, activities, events and objects. Signs & Symbols from stages 5 & 6 will also be introduced, which are ideal for personal development; feelings, interests, community, thinking & knowing. You will also begin to learn more abstract concepts.

Online workshops are delivered in real time in a virtual meeting room via Zoom.

Online workshops comprise of approximately six learning hours, dependant on group size and any previous knowledge or experience.

The entry criteria for this Workshop is previous completion of Levels 1 & 2 (You will be asked to send a photo of your Levels 1 & 2 certificates via email). If you have previously completed a Foundation Workshop prior to 2018 please contact signingtogethermakatontutor@gmail.com before booking your place on Level 3. Participants must be over 16 years of age. Please raise at time of booking if you have any challenges or additional needs, so reasonable adjustments can be made to support your learning & participation.

You will receive a Participant's Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.

You will also be given a certificate upon completion of the workshop. Please remember to keep your Level 3 training certificate in case you want to attend further Makaton training.

After completing Level 3 training you can continue on your Makaton journey by attending Level 4 training.

Please ensure your environment is quiet and distraction free when attending the online workshop.

You will need a good internet connection to ensure Zoom works well, as well as a big enough screen to see all participants (this can be up to 11 others).

Ideally, a computer/laptop/iPad screen with camera and microphone function, as you will need to be seen and heard clearly for assessment of your signing.

Mobile phones are NOT suitable as they do not give enough visibility to support the teaching of signs and during group activities.

After booking the attendee will receive an email from Signing Together - signingtogethermakatontutor@gmail.com - to confirm their place ahead of the workshop.

The attendee will need to look out for this email (also check junk folder) as it contains the Zoom link required to access the workshop as well as other important information.

If the workshop selected is using hard copy Paper Manuals (or you have requested a Paper Manual instead of the Digital Learning Kit at the time of booking and given signingtogethermakatontutor@gmail.com at least 14 days prior notice of the workshop date) a Paper Manual will be posted, ahead of the workshop, to the shipping address provided at checkout.
