Writers' Day!
A celebration of the Year of Reading
Join us for a whole festival-day of hearing pro writers read their works – and leading their own take on an intimate, creative-writing workshop.
There are three separate sessions. Dramatist, Children’s Picture Book Maker, and Poet. Your ticket gets you into all three . There will be also be time for questions as to how get work published (and anything else) too.
Who: 10.30-12noon: Kevin Dyer, Playwright who has won both the Best Play Award and the Best Play for Children Award from the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain. Assitej awarded him their ‘Most Inspirational International Playwright award .
1pm -2.30pm: Rachel Lyon, Author, (‘The Cautionary Tale of the Childe of Hale’ and ‘I Wish I’d Beeb Born a Unicorn’ – and her work has been on CBeebies!),
3pm-5pm: John Lindley, Poet (Has appeared in lit festivals across the UK, has seven collections of poetry, was Cheshire Poet Laureate and Manchester Cathedral Poet of the Year – and he is a very special performer of poetry.)
There will be light refreshments available – tea, coffee, some nice biscuits. But please bring a sarnie to get you through the day.
