Root Cause Project FREE Military Families Day 30th May

Root Cause Project FREE Military Families Day 30th May

Hakeford WoodBarnstaple, England
Saturday, May 30 from 10 am to 2 pm
Overview

Midweek May Half Term session for serving and veteran families. Bring children aged 6+ for outdoor skills, campfire brews and connection.

FREE May Half Term Session For Veterans & Serving Personnel Families

You shouldn’t have to choose between looking after your own headspace and spending time with your kids.

If you’re serving or a veteran, you already know how limited quality family time can be. Weekends don’t always line up, and school holidays can fill fast. Time with your children matters and so does staying connected to others who understand military life.

On Saturday 30th May, we’re opening a Root Cause session so you can bring your children (aged 6+) and partners along. This is a chance to slow things down: time outdoors, straightforward practical skills, campfire brews, and space to reconnect, as a family and as part of the military community.

What to expect

  • Time outdoors in a safe, welcoming environment
  • Simple, hands-on skills for adults and children
  • Campfire brews and informal conversation
  • Connection with serving members, veterans, and families

Who it’s for

  • Serving personnel and veterans
  • Parents and carers with children aged 6+
  • Families wanting meaningful time in a military-aware space

Bring the kids. Take a breath. Step out of routine.

We’ll meet you by the fire.

Root Cause Project is run by veterans, combining our lived military experience, survival skills, mental health and education knowledge to support the wellbeing and mental health of the military community.
