Liza Knight is the founder of Mint Business Club, and has spent the last 20 years quietly questioning most of what the business world tells us to do.

She’s tried the “proper” way of running a business. The strategies, the consistency, the pressure to get it right. Like a lot of people, she made it work… until it stopped working for her.

What came next wasn’t a rebrand or a big breakthrough moment, but a slow refusal to keep building a business that felt like hard work to live with. Through projects like Discovering Durham and the work she now does with The Tea Enthusiasts and inside Mint, Liza has created something that fits around real life, not the other way round.

Her work is for business owners who are tired of feeling like they’re the problem. The ones who don’t quite fit the mould, who are juggling too much, or who are quietly wondering if there’s a better way to do this.

Get Kraken aims to reduce the digital divide in the region, by delivering digital skills in the form of webinars, workshops and 1-2-1 support. We are a local Databank, providing free access to the Internet for those in income-deprived areas.

We love to support local business and reduce the loneliness that often can be a part of working for yourself or as a startup.
