Liverpool Cathedral Choir: Elijah Concert
Join us for a powerful performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah, one of the great masterpieces of the choral repertoire.
This dramatic oratorio tells the story of the prophet Elijah as described in the books of 1 and 2 Kings in the Old Testament, portraying moments of faith, struggle and divine encounter through Mendelssohn’s rich and expressive music.
This special full-work performance will bring together the Liverpool Cathedral Choir with a massed choir of singers and choirs from across the North-West, creating a truly unforgettable musical experience within the magnificent setting of Liverpool Cathedral.
The role of Elijah will be performed by Andrew Greenan, and the concert will also feature soloists Kelsey Thomas, Joyce Tindsley, and Stefan Kennedy.
Accompanied by the Liverpool Concert Orchestra and cathedral organ (Featuring Cathedral Organist Ian Tracey in one of his final major performances before retirement), this performance of Elijah promises an evening of stirring choral music and powerful storytelling.
