Join us for an afternoon celebrating ancient threads, hand crafts, gentle stories and powerful conversations about the past, present and possible futures of natural fibres here in Derbyshire.

Watch award winning film The Nettle Dress, following the inspiring story of Allan Brown who spent seven years foraging, spinning, weaving, cutting and sewing cloth for a dress made entirely from locally foraged stinging nettles.
Panel Discussion Hosted By Abigail Wastie
Hear from local growers, farmers, makers and businesses navigating the opportunities and challenges of working with natural fibres including Derbyshire wool and Riddings flax. Then get hands-on with local makers sharing skills to create handmade threads from animal and plant fibres.
This discussion will focus on:Heritage, craft & fibre

An earlier screening and panel discussion will take place from 7pm-9pm the discusion will focus on: Is there a future for natural fibres in our wardrobe?
