Join Highland-based acclaimed Gaelic singer, Brian Ó hEadhra, to learn Scottish Gaelic songs each week online. You will learn traditional and new Gaelic songs in an enjoyable and informative manner. This special Gaelic Cèilidh Classics course will cover material from Brian's much loved publication Òrain Cèilidh Teaghlaich | The Family Cèilidh Gaelic Song Collection. Bidh fàilte bhlàth romhaibh / All very welcome!

The course is aimed at both Gaelic learners and fluent speakers. We will concentrate on pronunciation, musical delivery and song/cultural provenance. Students are encouraged to ask questions and we use online resources such as Tobar an Dualchais to research the material and hear archive recordings.

You will sing on mute (don't worry!) and lyrics will be provided on screen for you to follow under guidance from Brian. The class is delivered in both English and Gàidhlig and made accessible to all (whatever your knowledge of Gaelic).

When is it? / Cuin' a bhios e?

Classes are on Thursdays at 7:30 pm BST (Scottish time). This course lasts for four weeks and the dates are 7, 14, 21, 28 April 2026.

Each class is an hour long on the Zoom platform. The Zoom link will be emailed before the first class starts and you use this same link for each class.

You can register on Eventbrite. Note that there is a small booking fee for Eventbrite registration. There is also an alternative ticket option as a donation for you to pay what you can.

Payment is also available through Paypal. Suggested minimum donation of £8.50 per class and please provide your email address and class you are paying for. Please select payment to Family/Friends (to avoid Paypal fees). Please get in touch if you would prefer to pay another way (eg bank trasfer).
