Why this training mattersWhile minor bumps and bruises are part of growing up, accidents are one of the leading causes of serious injury in young children.Luckily, most are preventable with the right knowledge. This short, interactive course helps you understand:<ul><li>What the most serious home accidents are for under‑5s</li><li>The key risk factors that increase the chance of injury</li><li>The most effective, practical steps you can take straight away to reduce these risks</li><li>What immediate first aid to give to stop an injury from becoming more serious</li></ul>You’ll leave the session feeling more confident, more prepared, and better equipped to keep your child safe at home. What the session coversIn just 1.5 hours, you’ll learn about: 1. The most serious home accidents for under‑5sYou’ll learn about the real risks – not the myths – including:<ul><li>Falls</li><li>Burns</li><li>Choking, suffocation and strangulation</li><li>Poisoning</li><li>Drowning</li><li>Toy and product safety.</li></ul>For each accident type, we’ll share simple, evidence‑based tips to prevent incidents from happening in the first place. 2. First aid that makes a differenceWe’ll cover the essential first aid that can stop a minor accident becoming a major one, including:<ul><li>What to do if a child chokes</li><li>How to treat burns quickly and correctly</li><li>When to seek medical help</li><li>How to stay calm and act effectively in the moment.</li></ul>This is practical, parent-friendly first aid – no jargon, no unnecessary detail, just what you really need to know. 3.
