Join us for a fascinating journey into the earliest chapters of human history, led by one of the UK’s foremost prehistoric archaeologists. Professor Nick Ashton will reveal groundbreaking discoveries that are transforming our understanding of the first people to inhabit Britain and northern Europe.
Fire, Culture and Society in Britain 400,000 years ago - The earliest known evidence of humans deliberately creating and controlling fire at Barham, pushing back the known date of human fire-making by over 350,000 years.
First Pioneers in Northern Europe 900,000 years ago - the Happisburgh Footprints, the earliest evidence of human presence in northern Europe, attributed to Homo antecessor.
