Generational leadership is about leading in a way that recognises, values and brings together the different perspectives, expectations and working styles of multiple age groups within the workforce.For the first time in history, up to six different generations are working side by side. Effective leaders understand how generational experiences shape motivation, communication, wellbeing and ways of working - and adapt their leadership approach accordingly.


Learning outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will:


Understand generational diversity

  • Explore the different generations in today’s workforce and what motivates them

Recognise the impact of generational influences

  • Understand how expectations, values and experiences affect engagement, productivity and teamwork

Adapt leadership and communication styles

  • Flex approaches to communicate confidently and inclusively across age groups

Model inclusive leadership behaviours

  • Strengthen team cohesion, psychological safety and collaboration

Support health and wellbeing across generations

  • Recognise differing wellbeing priorities and apply inclusive, sustainable approaches
