Advice and Support for Parents on safe moving and handling of children with physical disabilities

Please note that these events are only open to parents or guardians of children. Bookings from professionals, paid carers or those living outside of Hertfordshire will not be accepted.

Introducing our Safe Moving and Handling Training for parents in Hertfordshire. This training session is specifically for parents who have children at home with physical and/or neurological impairments where the child is unable to move without adult physical assistance. This includes access to toileting and therapeutic equipment. These sessions are not suitable for those seeking advice on general back care or how to ensure physical safety of children demonstrating challenging behaviour.

During the face-to-face session, attendees are asked to engage in activities which involve some physical movements. On the day you will be required to inform the trainer if you have any pre-existing conditions which may affect your ability to participate in these activities.

Spaces are limited to 2 per family

PLEASE NOTE: Parking is available on site with a charge payable on exit at the machine. There are some 3-hour spaces available on the roads close by.
