- Different types of charity accounts, including receipts & payments and accruals, and when each is appropriate
- Understanding financial statements such as income & expenditure reports and balance sheets
- Safe and practical bookkeeping methods, including double‑entry bookkeeping explained in plain English
- Managing restricted and unrestricted funds correctly
- Handling cash safely, including petty cash systems, audit trails, and expense controls
- Good financial safeguards, checks, and balances—including trustee oversight, bank reconciliation, and fraud prevention
