Overview

Explore how Creating Supportive Environments is tackling the root causes of LGBTQ+ phobia and hate crime.

Join The Kite Trust for a focused TeachMeet exploring strategies to create supportive environments for LGBTQ+ young people and the wider community. This session is delivered as part of the three-year Creating Supportive Environments project, funded by The National Lottery, which aims to address the root causes of LGBTQ+ phobia and hate crime within school and home environments. The project challenges increasing rates of harm by supporting individuals, families, and whole school communities to foster spaces where LGBTQ+ youth can thrive.

Key Outcomes for the Session:

  • understanding bullying: support teachers to better understand LGBTQ+phobic bullying in schools;
  • effective challenge: learn how to effectively challenge LGBTQ+phobic bullying;
  • inclusive spaces: discover how to set up an inclusive space to support LGBTQ+ student wellbeing.
