Snaizeholme holds a complex mosaic of interconnected habitats for wildlife including important waders like curlew. Learn about how they are retaining and enhancing habitat for ground nesting birds alongside woodland creation.

Yorkshire Peat Partnership will be present to talk about the peatland restoration work we've undertaken at Snaizeholme and how its helping our wading birds.

This event is being run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the Woodland Trust as part of Ground Nest Fest 2026.

Parking

Free parking is available outside main barn (event meeting point).

What to expect

The event will include a presentation inside their main barn, followed by a guided walk onsite. The walk will cover uneven terrain.

What to bring/wear

Please wear appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. We will be both indoors and outdoors for the session.

Toilets

There is one toilet in the main barn.
