In fact St Aldhelm, bishop of Sherborne in the 7thC, was a renowned wit who wrote some. Many are ‘double entendres’ – can you spot the hidden meaning?! Modern translations of the riddles will be supplied in booklet form. Come and pit your puzzle-solving skill against those minds of a millennium ago.
