Overview

"The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper" - William Butler Yeats

Artist Run Nature Workshops

These workshops are organised by photographic artist Alan McFetridge, Daisy Green’s artist-in-residence at Holland Park. Each month, Alan invites a guest artist or scholar to lead a workshop that brings their practice into dialogue with the park, its rhythms, and its living landscape.

This month’s guest artist is Daria Hlazatova / Zori Hatavald/

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

— W.B. Yeats

Workshop Activities:

Haiku reading + writing

Meditation

Observation/Sensory walk

Mask making

Welcome to Sharper Senses

My name is Daria, and I am an artist from Ukraine currently living between London and Ukraine, due to Russia’s war on my country. I’m a full-time independent artist and my passions are drawing and collage.

The name for this workshop comes from a quote by WB Yeats

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

So why sharpen our senses?

To chop away what is unimportant

To carve out priorities

To see clearer

To connect to yourself and choose what’s right for you

To be in touch with your surroundings

To feel more alive

I was thinking about what it is that we lack these days. We are living in a world of information overload, sadly not useful knowledge overload, with our reactions and conversations becoming automatic and repetitive. Technology can rob us of time and energy. It shortens our attention span. We think in memes and communicate in emojis.

If we forget a password, we have to prove to a computer that we are human.

In 2026, as part of his residency with Daisy Green at Holland Park Café, he is shaping an evolving program by inviting artists he has encountered through chance, synchronicity, natural rhythm, and psychic channels.
