Organised Crime Groups – Prevent and Protect | Hybrid Event
Talk is given by the Essex Police Prevent & Protect Organised Crime Group Officer
Speaker:
Steven Davey joined Essex Police in Feb 1988 and retired after his 30 years in February 2018, having spent his entire service as a frontline uniformed response officer and reached the rank of Inspector. He then re-joined Essex Police as a civilian in April 2018 and in September 2019, he joined the Essex Police Prevent & Protect and is now the team’s supervisor.
The talk will include the following:
- What is an Organised Crime Group?
- What are OCGs involved in?
- How Organised Crime affects everyone?
- Who fights Organised Crime?
- Spotting the signs of exploitation, covering drugs runners, cyber-crime, fraud & modern day slavery & human trafficking,
- How to report any safeguarding concerns re the above?
- Partnership working and information sharing.
