In this webinar, Sue Cowley will share lots of practical strategies, ideas and tips for supporting learners to develop self-regulation skills. The ideas are based on Sue's bestselling books, The Ultimate Guide to Self-Regulation in the Classroom and Learning Behaviours: A Practical Guide to Self-Regulation in the Early Years. Sue will look at how the range of areas which fall under the heading of 'self-regulation skills', including impulse control, emotional regulation, empathy, attentional control, resilience and a sense of self. She will examine how these skills develop during childhood and the kind of barriers to development that can sometimes occur.

During the session, Sue will share lots of practical tips and activities which can be incorporated into your setting in order to support the development of children and young people's self-regulation. She will examine ways in which you can adapt the environment and utilise resources to support learners to manage their own behaviours. This webinar will include tips and advice for supporting children in early years and primary. The advice will be applicable to older learners as well, particularly those who have SEND.

This webinar is aimed at practitioners, teachers and trainees in early years, primary and secondary schools. The ideas explored will also be helpful for those working in a SENDCO role and also for leadership teams looking to extend and develop teacher practice.
