Scaling adaptation finance: what works in LDCs and SIDS

Scaling adaptation finance is an urgent priority for climate-vulnerable countries – particularly least developed countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Yet access remains complex, fragmented and insufficient to meet growing needs to accelerate and scale effective, equitable adaptation finance.This webinar brings together new evidence and real-world experience to explore what is working – and what needs to change.Drawing on a compendium of recently published <a href="https://www.iied.org/22692g" title="https://www.iied.org/22692g" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">case studies</a>, which examines four in-depth country examples, and <a href="https://ndcpartnership.org/sites/default/files/2026-02/country-led-programmatic-approaches-scaling-adaptation-finance-ldcs-and-sids-center-access-climate.pdf" title="https://ndcpartnership.org/sites/default/files/2026-02/country-led-programmatic-approaches-scaling-adaptation-finance-ldcs-and-sids-center-access-climate.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">policy analysis</a> from the Climate and Development Ministerial (C&amp;DM) and the NDC Partnership, the session will highlight practical, country-led approaches to unlocking and scaling adaptation finance.Participants will gain insights from country experiences on accessing and scaling finance, including lessons on moving from fragmented projects to more programmatic approaches.
