Meeting Point: Derwent Road entrance, Waterloo, L23 0TBExact location:<a href="https://what3words.com/slide.whites.assist" title="https://what3words.com/slide.whites.assist" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">what3words /// The simplest way to talk about location</a>https://what3words.com/slide.whites.assistThis is an exciting opportunity to join our volunteer, Barry, to explore the different habitats of Rimrose Valley, the amazing species that live there and for an introduction to learning how to use the iNaturalist app to document the park's nature.More information:Rimrose Valley contains a range of unique habitats and documenting the park's biodiversity is key to understanding it and protecting its wildlife long-term.We can all play our part in what is known as “citizen science” and it's now really easy to record sightings whenever you visit the park using the iNaturalist app.Local volunteer, Barry, who works for Natural England, will be giving us an introduction to how it all works and suggesting simple steps so we can head out onto Rimrose and start recording data with confidence!This is a great opportunity to explore more of our beautiful park, its amazing species of wildlife, to learn a new skill and to help nature, together.Nature for HEART is a series of events and activities designed to get more and more people active on Rimrose Valley, connecting with each other and the park’s nature.Coordination of this project has been funded by the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme and the PH Holt Foundation.*IMPORTANT INFO*<ul><li>Please download the iNaturalist app to your phone/tablet prior to this activity and create an account. This will save time on the day</li><li>Follow this link or find it in your app store: https://www.inaturalist.org/</li><li>Binoculars are always a good idea for this kind of walk, but aren't essential as we will be using our phones/tablets</li><li>We will be following some of Rimrose's smaller, informal trails with uneven terrain. If you have any mobility issues, please contact us in advance.</li><li>Children are welcome to join, but must be accompanied by an adult. There is no need to book a place for a child</li><li>We want this to be open to as many people as possible, so we have limited the amount of places you can reserve to 2. Please only book the number of places you need and if you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so your place can be allocated to someone else. Let us know if you need help with this</li></ul><ul><li>Please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time.</li><li>Come prepared for the weather - rain or shine - and wear appropriate clothing/footwear. Bring sunscreen and a drink if it's warm</li><li>As ever, we encourage everyone to come on foot or to use public transport wherever possible.
