Guided Dolphin Watch with Coast Sunderland
A chance to spot dolphins and other marine life on the North East Coast!!
Join COAST Sunderland for an exciting Dolphin Watch at Roker Pier as part of the City Nature Challenge 2026!
We’ll gather at Roker Pier to scan the sea for dolphins and other marine wildlife. This stretch of coastline is a fantastic spot for sightings, and with a bit of luck, we may catch a glimpse of dolphins passing by. We’ll also keep an eye out for seabirds and other coastal species along the way. Using the iNaturalist app, we’ll record any wildlife we observe, contributing to the global City Nature Challenge and helping document the biodiversity of our local coastline. We will have scopes, binoculars and ID sheets available to borrow on the day- come along and scan the sea with us!
Date: Monday 27th April
Time: 13:00pm- 15:00pm
Meeting location- Entrance to Roker Pier, Alternatively - meet at St Peters Campus (outside of Riverside building for a guided walk to the pier).
