Overview

Join our special guests as we share tips on driving homelessness policy change across local and regional government.

On 29 April Homeless Link’s Policy and Campaigns Network is coming together to discuss the best way to influence and work with local and regional authorities. And we’re delighted to be joined by two expert guests, who will share their extensive experiences and top tips on shaping positive policy outcomes in local government.

Joining us will be:

• Sam Pratt, Policy and Communications Lead at Shared Health

• Jo Rogers, Changing Futures Programme Manager at West Sussex County Council

Why now?

In our last meeting Policy and Influencing Network members identified shaping local government processes and policies as a major challenge of their work, and something they would like to learn more about.

That’s no surprise. With local government funding settlements recently announced, a new national-level ‘Plan to End Homelessness’ for local authorities to deliver, and more local government reforms and reorganisations upcoming, this is a really important moment for homelessness services seeking to collaborate productively with local authorities in their areas.

What we will cover in the session

During the 90-minute session, our expert guests will present on their own experience of working with local government structures and seeking to deliver change. There will be plenty of time for questions.

Breakout groups will also give us time to share any influencing insights you have from your own area and connect with others doing similar roles across the country.
