Family Matters: Exploring Gender Diversity and Neurodivergence
This welcoming session is aimed at parents and carers who may be raising a neurodivergent LGBTQ+ child or young person.
This welcoming session is aimed at parents and carers in Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow boroughs who may be raising an LGBTQ+ child or young person. If you are interested to learn more, including ways to support your young person, do come along to join this inclusive session. The session will be aimed at parents of young people aged 11+ however all are welcome.
During the session we will look at understanding more about LGBTQ+ histories and will:
- Go through relevant terminology
- Explore the overlap between SEND/ neurodivergence and LGBTQ+
- Discuss and share how to be supportive and inclusive
The workshop will be delivered by Annie Woods, young people's service manager and sexual health coordinator at Spectra. Spectra is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers free, peer-led health and wellbeing services across London with more than 30 years experience of supporting local communities. Spectra's work is aimed at people who experience inequality, stigma or barriers to care.
