Dried Flower Artist & Founder of Horseshoe Flowers

Sarah Ogden is a dried flower artist and florist based in the Derbyshire Dales, and the founder of Horseshoe Flowers — a studio known for its vibrant, contemporary approach to dried and preserved floristry. Her work centres on sustainability, creating long-lasting arrangements designed to be kept, reused and enjoyed over time rather than discarded.

Originally working in the fashion industry for over 15 years, Sarah retrained in floristry in New York before returning to the UK to establish her practice. This background continues to inform her approach, particularly in her use of colour, composition and attention to detail, bringing a distinctly modern sensibility to a traditionally overlooked medium.

Sarah creates bespoke arrangements for weddings, events and interiors, often collaborating closely with clients to develop personalised designs. Her work is characterised by bold colour palettes, relaxed forms and an emphasis on texture, moving away from the muted, traditional associations of dried flowers.

Alongside her studio practice, Sarah is also the author of Design and Style: Modern Dried Flowers, sharing her techniques and approach with a wider audience. Through both her making and teaching, she continues to redefine dried floristry as a contemporary, creative and sustainable discipline.
