Overview

The course provides learners with the knowledge to identify safeguarding concerns, record a disclosure and how to report concerns.

RQF Level 1 Award Half Day Awareness of Safeguarding Course

Qualification title: FAA Level 1 Award in Awareness of Safeguarding Code 603/5635/2

Unit 1 title: Awareness of Safeguarding Unit code D/618/0147

This qualification will provide an understanding of safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a safeguarding concern, record a disclosure and report to the appropriate person.


A range of Safeguarding related subjects are covered including:

• Safeguarding legislation and guidance

• Roles and responsibilities

• Abuse and neglect

• Identifying concerns and disclosure

• Making judgements

• Reporting safeguarding concerns


Assessment

The qualification is assessed by a written assessment including open and multiple-choice questions. A learner must attend the minimum classroom contact time of 4 hours, and successfully pass the written assessment to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded an Ofqual regulated qualification. The qualification does not have an expiry date, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.


Refreshments such as tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.

Ticket Charges

We will be charging a refundable fee of £5 (+eventbrite fees) per ticket. This will be refunded to you once you sign in at the event. Please note, the total amount you will be refunded is £5 per ticket (we are unable to refund eventbrite fees).


Accessibility

If there is anything we can do to help you feel more comfortable during your visit, please let us know.

The Sector 3 offices are on the ground floor with an accessible front entrance, but we can also meet you at the front door, provide ear plugs if you have auditory processing or sensory challenges, or take you to a quiet room before continuing with your visit.


Parking

The Merseyway / Redrock car park is the closest and most accessible car park.

Alternatively Warren Street car park (The Old Sainsburys) charge £6.50 for the whole day, if you're looking for a longer, cheaper option.
