Bollywood Under the Stars
Step onto the dancefloor and get ready to shine in a fun beginner-friendly Bollywood dance class exploring how stars are born.
Join researchers from Imperial College London's Astrophysics Research Group and Bollyqueer, a Bollywood dance collective celebrating empowerment beyond gender norms, and become a star in this vibrant Bollywood dance experience.
You’ll dance your way through the epic journey of star formation, gliding like swirling gas clouds, bursting into life like a protostar and glowing with the energy of a newborn stellar nursery.
The session includes a warm-up and an introduction to the science of the night sky and you’ll come away having learned a fun and accessible choreography. No prior dance experience needed, just bring your curiosity and get ready to move like a star!
This event is part of the Great Exhibition Road Festival on 6-7 June 2026.
The workshop takes place in a zone for people aged 18+ only. People younger than 18 will not be allowed entry into the building.
Please arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the start time. Your ticket gives you priority access, however, as this is a free event if you do not arrive 10 minutes before the start time your space may be reallocated. Early arrival reduces this risk.
