This training is delivered by Beth Courtney, Librarian at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, and offers the following:
- An overview of what health literacy is and the extent of the issue nationally and within the South West
- How health inequalities, digital literacy and access, and misinformation impact health literacy levels and the importance of understanding and considering health literacy levels
- A reflective discussion of what health literacy issues look like and the impact it has (this could be encounters you've had professionally or personally)
- What you can do to help library users with health information enquiries (to include an exploration of resources to signpost to)
