Overview

This film captures an incredible feat of solidarity and action, and we are delighted to screen it as part of our 30th Anniversary Programme

In May 2021, a UK Home Office dawn raid triggers one of the most spontaneous and successful acts of civil resistance in recent memory. In Pollokshields, Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of residents rush to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbours.

This award winning film captures this incredible feat of solidarity and direct action, and we are delighted to screen it as part of our programme celebrating KPC’s own activist history.

“In Everybody to Kenmure Street, I am not trying to explain. I am trying to remember, preserve, and rebuild. It’s not a film with heroes, but with presence, with voices that echo through each other. It’s a film about being present, being in the street, being together, being Human.” - Felipe Bustos Sierra, Director

Everybody to Kenmure Street beautifully and powerfully demonstrates the innate and deep decency of our people whilst also highlighting the institutional mannerisms and structures that are the opposite of this. It’s a documentary about what we as society often do not see, but what we can do when we do see it.” - Emma Thompson, Executive Producer

Runtime: 98 minutes

Please note this film is rated a 12A.

The film will be screened in English with English subtitles.

The film will include discussion of immigration, detention, state violence, and racism, with some strong language and depictions of alcohol/smoking.
