"Behind the Headlines" Awareness Session by Welsh Refugee Council
Join us in taking a look 'Behind the Headlines', and get the real facts about asylum and refugees in Wales
Public conversation about asylum and refugees in Wales is increasingly shaped by partial information, strong opinions and fast-moving headlines.
That makes it harder for people to understand what is really happening, harder for leaders to speak with confidence, and harder for communities to stay connected.
The 'Behind the Headlines' project exists to tackle misinformation and close that gap.Its purpose is to bring clear information, real experience and practical understanding into a space that is too often driven by noise rather than knowledge.
Not to tell people what to think — but to make it easier for them to form views based on facts, context and lived reality.
By improving how asylum and refugees are understood in Wales, the project aims to support a more stable, informed and constructive public conversation — one that benefits communities, institutions and the people directly affected.
Under our new policy, failure to attend the course or provide notice within 36 hours of the start date, your organisation is liable to pay a minimum of a £25 charge.
