Overview

An experiential introduction to natural movement, balance and everyday ease using the Alexander Technique including constructive rest

Alexander Technique Lunchtime Workshop – Tuesday 28 April, 1–2pm
Upstairs, opposite Hathersage train station. Free parking in bays marked SP.

Come and join me for the a one off or series of weekly lunchtime Alexander Technique workshops in Hathersage. This session is a friendly, hands‑on introduction to the principles behind Alexander’s discoveries and how they can help you move with more ease, balance and natural coordination.

We’ll explore the foundations of good use: how your thinking shapes your movement, how unnecessary tension creeps in, and how allowing your natural design to lead (rather than trying to control every muscle) can make everyday actions feel lighter, freer and more efficient. This work supports anything you already do, whether that’s physio exercises, yoga, Pilates, gym work, cycling, hiking or simply standing at the sink doing the dishes.

If you’re dealing with back pain, sore knees, restricted breathing, general stiffness, or if you’re simply curious about how your body is meant to work, you’re very welcome. I’ll guide you through gentle explorations that meet your body exactly where it is. This is not an exercise class. You’re encouraged to move only within your own comfortable capacity on the day.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one or use on the carpeted floor, and wear clothing that is warm for the lying‑down practice and allows easy movement.

Cost:
£10 per session
If you already have a private session with me in the same calendar week, you’re welcome to attend this workshop for free.

I look forward to seeing you there,
Lucy
