Words in Motion: The Heart of Live Storytelling

Words in Motion: The Heart of Live Storytelling

By Our Hands We Make Our WayNottingham, England
Wednesday, May 27  •  2 PM - 5 PM
Overview

The better you tell stories aloud, the more stories will want to be told by you - however you put them into the world.

What's your story...?

THE WORKSHOP

This workshop is an invitation to shape a tale from your own life offering glimpses of patterns reflecting and shaping stories we hold collectively. And to explore ways of sharing that story aloud.

Some stories shimmer in myth and offer reference points we kind of know. Others emerge from now and next, may nod at us through the interplay of personal history with headlines and films, music and memes. We'll bring those threads together in structured ways to make you catnip for new stories.

What you do may yet become a poem, a novel, a script. This is where it will be hatched, among others keen to discover and share stories that - however unlikely - are some kind of true to whatever this world is becoming. And it all happens in this city's most exciting space for multi-dimensional creativity.

THE TUTOR

Adrian Reynolds has written for theatre, television, and film. He's an occasional poet and prose writer, a recovering copywriter who loves sketching.

“Adrian Reynolds combines an innate understanding of the world we live in – inner and outer – with an ability to craft strong, flexible narratives and characterisation that chime with the times.” Michelle Olley, Content Manager for Cartoon Network, TruTV, TNT and Adult Swim.

MORE DETAILS

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow writers, explore your creative imagination and learn from an experienced local writer.

The event will take place in person at the delightful creative space in Sneinton Market's Avenues By Our Hands We Make Our Way.
